It was a blunder. Iran now controls the Strait of Hormuz.
In terms of geopolitics, China does not view the US as a serious nation.
In terms of ethics, the US is a nation led by war criminals. One of the last bastions of colonialism and militarism. America the last, still believing it is #1. How's that for a blind spot?

This is such a good, elemental piece. And, now what? You are one of the best in dealing with understanding our situation, where I seem to be the only one dealing with what to do in a world where there aren't solutions but outcomes to be paid attention to.
First on my to-dos is to get everyone aware of what is so. All hands on deck, paying attention, at this point is the best we could do to create an opening for what hasn't been thought of and a redesign of how to run the world along regenerative lines.
Is anyone capable of winding down this over-population peacefully, and over what time frame? That's a predicament, thus no solution - and we don't have that much time anyway. As with virtually all Elite decisions, forethought is not even considered.
Kathleen, what do you think is going on where Erik liked your comment but not mine, that you are replying to, where I thought his piece was good enough to crosspost it to all my subscribers...???
And re your comment, no, now we don't have a magic answer or person, but how about our best chance being for the populace to be aware of how things are so everyone would be involved in looking for how to handle the reality we are in?
I have no idea, your reply wasn't contrary to what he wrote. Yes, everyone should be informed, but of course there are many with sealed minds. Like for global warming, it's more about what each person does than pretending that govt can fix it.
Honestly, most people donβt WANT to know the situation we are in because they have been culturally programmed to see everything as a problem and do not comprehend predicaments. Furthermore, most people, even if informed on precisely what to do to make things better, still wonβt do it or will only make an effort on part of it.
As for liking comments, I really donβt pay much attention to all of that. Some comments I like but donβt click on the icon. Some I click on but only half agree with what the person said. My best advice would be to ignore likes and just focus on content. Every single one of these articles here were originally published on my original blog site sometimes WEEKS before I publish them here, and since I only publish here once a month at best, everything piles up rather quickly. It takes me several days to get caught up with comments and such, so donβt get offended if I miss something.
"No new technology will be coming to βsaveβ us because every new technology previously only worked because there was an ample supply of surplus energy to power it and plenty of resources were available from that surplus of energy to build that new technology."
It's worse than that!
Howard Odum (based on Alfred Lotke) pretty much nailed it: complexity, and thus, technology, is a form of "emergy", or embedded energy.
In other words, what we tout as "human exceptionalism" is simply that we clever fire-monkeys figured out how to harvest 250,000,000-year-old sunlight.
As fossil sunlight goes into permanent, irrevocable decline, so must technology.
We're at the peak, folks. Technology ain't gonna save us!

It's happening again. Erik likes you, but not me. ?????
yeah, I don't get it. I'm not sure if the original author is made aware of cross-posts.
